The Challenge
Across Bristol, too many young people face school holidays without access to structured activities or consistent meals. For many, this can mean long days at home, limited food, and very little to look forward to. This increases the risk of isolation, disengagement, and negative outcomes.
The Partnership
Through the Potatoes for Purpose campaign, Arthur David (Food With Service) Ltd, Koffmann’s, and Community of Purpose came together to create a simple but powerful model…
Every pink bag of Koffmann’s potatoes sold contributes directly to supporting young people.
What Happened
Between November 2025 and April 2026
- Over 5903 pink bags sold
- Funding generated to support Break Free holiday provision
- Hundreds of young people engaged across Bristol
What This Made possible
For many young people, the school holidays can mean long days at home, limited food, and very little to look forward to.
Because of this partnership, that changed. Young people had places to go, a reason to get up and meet people who were genuinely pleased to see them. Thanks to this support they’ve shared meals together, tried things they’ve never done before and spent time in environments that felt safe, structured and positive. For some, this meant getting hands-on in a kitchen, preparing food, learning new skills, and building confidence in an environment they hadn’t experienced before. For others, it was simply having a consistent space where they felt welcomed, included and valued. These moments may seem small, but they matter! Because when young people feel safe, seen, and part of something…their confidence grows, their behaviour shifts, and their sense of what’s possible begins to change.
The Impact
This isn’t just about food. It’s about reducing holiday hunger, increasing engagement and confidence and creating positive experiences that shift behaviour and mindset.
Why It Works
This model works because it’s simple. It’s a product people already buy and it’s linked directly to meaningful, visible impact.
Every bag sold doesn’t just support a meal…It helps create opportunity, stability, and change.
