Our very own Amy Kington and 11 COP friends are taking on a marathon walking challenge in July, to raise money for the charity that supported her family when her brother was diagnosed with cancer in 2015.
Amy, is preparing to take on the gruelling 26.2 mile Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust and other local good causes! If successful the group will accomplish an ascent of 1,532m and a marathon distance in one day!

Amy, said:
“Two years ago Josh started to develop symptoms of what we now know was one of the tell-tale signs of Hodgkins Lymphoma; he suffered with night sweats and skin irritation. We went back and forth to our local GPs for nearly seven months before it was finally diagnosed. At the time we couldn’t believe it, he was young, fit and healthy and didn’t even drink. It came as a complete shock.

“The last two years have been incredibly difficult for my brother and my family but we’ve received the most amazing support and care from Teenage Cancer Trust and I would like to walk for the charity as a small sign of my appreciation. The staff on the unit not only cared for Josh but supported our whole family. I’ll never be able to repay the kindness we’ve received but the Yorkshire Three Peaks would be a real positive place to start for me and my family. Josh is now doing much better and is feeling upbeat about his future and hopefully he’ll be well enough to come out and support me on the big day.”
We are hoping to raise a minimum of £5,000 for the charity. All money raised by Teenage Cancer Trust’s walkers will go towards helping young people like her brother Josh, who underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy on the charity’s unit in Bristol and support local good causes!
