Bristol Young Heroes – Hudayfa Hassan

It’s official! Nominations for the Bristol Young Heroes Awards 2020 are open and we are looking to unearth the latest band of young Bristolians who have overcome adversity and challenging circumstances to make a difference or achieve greatness.

To help inspire you, we’ve invited previous BYHA winners and nominees to share their stories and tell us how being nominated made a difference to them.

This is Hud’s story…

What category of the Bristol Young Heroes Awards were you nominated for?
I was nominated as Sports Hero for the Bristol Young Heroes award.

What did it mean to you being nominated?
It meant a lot to me being nominated for sporting hero because being recognised was a pleasure in itself.

How has being nominated changed you?
Being nominated has made think out side the box and its also made me more ambitious. At the awards event itself, I met people who were nominated for so many different things; meeting the people nominated for the young careers was amazing… the story’s the young careers had to tell was amazing.

“Being nominated has made think out side the box and its also made me more ambitious.”

What was it like attending the BYHA Awards event?
I would say the actual awards event itself was amazing and a great experience all round.

What would you say to anyone thinking of nominating a young person?
For anyone who’s looking to nominate any young heroes I’d say: It’s a special award, so pick the most ambitious, kind and humble individual.
